Jasmine Otis Bio

jasmine bio

My name is Jasmine Otis. I was born and raised in Alaska. I am currently 20 years old and have been shooting skeet since the age of 8. My goal is the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. USA Shooting is a part of Team USA which falls under the USOC (United States Olympic Committee). Each of USA Shooting’s sanctioned events are a stepping stone towards the Olympics.

These sanctioned matches qualify shooters for World Cups, World Championships, Pan American Games, Cat Games, etc. Quotas are given at these matches which qualify individuals to compete in the Olympics. The year of 2018, I qualified and shot in: CAT Games (12th Championship Of The Americas). This event gave away MQS (minimum qualification score) slots away o the Team USA individuals that earn it based off of score. The 2018 CAT Games were held in Mexico at the Cinegetico Jalisciense, A.C. & CODE Jalisco shooting range in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México, (1 NOV- 11 NOV 2018).  At 2018’s year event in Mexico I earned my MQS position.

This past 2019 shooting season I had also qualified for the World Championships in Lonato, Italy, Trap Concaverde Range, (JUNE 28-JULY 10) and German Junior World Cup. As a TEAM USA, Nationals Team member for USA Shooting, myself along with 2 other top competing women in the nation swept the International podium. We won 3rd place in the world as the International Skeet Women’s team. 2020, March, I made the Germany Junior World Cup team which was canceled due to CoronaVirus.

In total leading up to the next Olympics, I will be able to earn a maximum of two Olympic Quotas. These quotas will be given away at the next World Cup and World Championship events. At these upcoming events I will continue to represent Alaska and the United States of America.

Thank you for your support.

I am proud to say that shooting is my Olympic Sport.

Sincerely,

Jasmine Otis
